Mrs. Kane & all other 4th grade teachers - Grade 4
Naturalist Macia Wilson will present an in-school enrichment program designed to enhance the fourth grade animal science curriculum
called
Eyes on Owls. This presentation funded by
WEST will provide all fourth graders with an experience to observe owls and discuss and examine the physical adaptations to nature that owls possess. Naturalists will discuss how to locate owls in natural habitats and how to attract owls and protect them. Students will have the opportunity to meet six live owls and observe their behaviors. Mrs. Kane acknowledges that the program “will reinforce and bridge science curriculum content between 4th and 5th grades by addressing adaptations necessary for survival in changing environments, animal behaviors, and food chains found within native ecosystems.”
