Mrs. Kelly & all other 3rd grade teachers - Grade 3

Due to the past success of this WEST funded project, WEST is again funding this grant to bring representatives from local Native People to the Wrentham Elementary School. In the Fall of 2009, Native American presenters will visit with all third grade students to discuss present day life as well as explore 17th century culture and lifestyles of the Wampanoag People. Students will have opportunities to examine Wampanoag clothing, toys animal skins and tools and to discuss the seasonality of Native American home and life in New England. Mrs. Kelly describes the program as a “hands on workshop, designed to excite and inspire students to learn more about the Wampanoag people” and compliments the Grade 3 History and Social Studies Massachusetts Curriculum Framework standards.
