The grant will purchase a series of supplemental materials to enrich the Social Studies curriculum for the 3rd Grade as they learn about life in America during the period from 1620 to 1776. Books, reproduction artifacts, electronic field trips, time period music, plays and pictures will illuminate the lives of the Pilgrims, Puritans and Colonists during the time leading up to the Revolutionary War. Interactive hands-on activities will hold the attention of the students as they learn about a formative era in our nation’s history. All third grade students will have access to the materials which will be re-usable and will provide an exciting approach to meeting the Grade 3 History and Social Studies Massachusetts Curriculum Framework standards for years to come.
