Introduction
With the decodable books published by “Rumack Resources” titled “The Yak Pack Comics”, kindergarteners and first grade students will build foundational literacy skills by being exposed to these engaging books in the format of comic strips while applying their knowledge of taught phonics skills to independently read the text and build their fluency.

Providing students with engaging stories to allow them to feel successful in their reading and build their lifelong love of reading
Highlights
Students were excited to read a "comic book". They were confident readers being able to decode the stories in the books and were able to "buddy" read with peers. The students are excited to continue reading the next set of books as they master their phonics skills. Thank you for this opportunity for students to feel confident about their reading abilities!
