Introduction
Provide the necessary adaptive pencils and pencil grippers for the many students who have fine motor challenges which impact their control of the writing tools and the writing process.
Grant Details
Overarching Goal of Project: To provide the necessary adaptive pencils and pencil grippers for the many students who have fine motor challenges which impact their control of the writing tools and the writing process.
Specific Objectives: The students will have the tools needed to optimize their performance with writing tasks.
Curriculum Standards/Goals that are met:
To make handwriting more legible and efficient.
To increase student’s stamina and endurance for writing tasks.
4. Participants: Who is involved and how are they qualified? I give adaptive pencils and pencil grippers to any student throughout the district based on teacher request and based on my observation of the student.
Highlights
The occupational therapy department is very thankful to WEST for all of the supplies they provided us. The adaptive writing tools have helped numerous students with the physical abilities needed to express themselves through writing. These tools have been given to students from preschool to sixth grade. Thank you WEST!
