Grant Showcase

With the decodable books published by “Rumack Resources” titled “The Yak Pack Comics”, kindergarteners and first grade students will build foundational literacy skills by being exposed to these engaging books in the format of comic strips while applying their knowledge of taught phonics skills to independently read the text and build their fluency.

The main goal of this project is to provide flexible seating for students. Flexible seating allows all students to access the curriculum with the additional support they may require.

The Discovery Museum will teach the second graders about physical changes of solids, liquids and gasses. 

Provide the necessary adaptive pencils and pencil grippers for the many students who have fine motor challenges which impact their control of the writing tools and the writing process.

These tools will help develop clear communication skills, build confidence in speaking, and ensure all voices are heard. 

This was a traveling workshop from the Acton Discovery Museum. It featured two workshops: lights and lasers & Soundwaves. 

Delaney first grade students had a wonderful opportunity to meet the award-winning children’s book author and illustrator, Ralph Masiello.

“Eyes on Owls” provided students with an opportunity to have close first-hand observations and an unusual experience with live owls.
